Atsushi Koshio is a researcher, educator, and entrepreneur working across artificial intelligence, data science, human informatics, medical informatics, and EdTech. Moving between university research and business leadership, he develops AI into systems that serve people and society.

Atsushi Koshio is a researcher, educator, and entrepreneur whose work spans artificial intelligence, data science, human informatics, medical informatics, and EdTech. He is a professor at Reitaku University, a project associate professor at the University of Tokyo, and a visiting professor at Kobe Institute of Computing. He also serves as CTO of HYPER CUBE Inc. and leads Four H Inc., while contributing to the management of several other companies as a director, adviser, and AI adviser. His current interests include AI agents, human-centered AI, informational health, invisible data, the evaluation of people and data overlooked by AI, and the use of AI for decision support in healthcare, education, and public systems. He connects field observations to research questions, data design, prototyping, evaluation, and implementation.

I develop privacy-conscious AI systems and personal AI while raising questions about AI evaluation and its social impact. I turn less-visible challenges in healthcare, education, and public-sector settings into testable research questions.

Alongside the theory and practice of AI, I help people learn to frame questions, decide what to delegate, and evaluate outcomes—capabilities needed to thrive in the AI era. My teaching spans university and professional education.
APPROACH
Technology adoption is never the goal by itself. I begin with whose decisions and actions a system should support, then design for human approval, privacy, uncertainty, and evaluation, improving the system through evidence from practice.
